About the Founder

Cristina Nolf is a licensed clinical social worker with more than twenty years of experience in community mental health. After receiving her Master in Social Work (MSW) from Smith College in 2001, she worked as a Child/Adolescent Clinician with the Brien Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts—providing Medicaid-funded therapy services to a predominantly foster care youth population. 

Upon moving to California in 2004, she was fortuitously assigned a temporary work assignment in the Quality Assurance Department with Santa Barbara County Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health Services—right at the time the department was preparing for an audit from the State. In working with a team to research Mental Health Plan regulations, problem-solve implementation challenges, and create and update policies and procedures, Cristina found her niche as a compliance professional.

In addition to her county government experience, Cristina has worked for two Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Organizational Providers.  Most recently, she served as the Director of Compliance and Privacy with Children’s Bureau of Southern California, where she worked for over eleven years.

In 2022, Cristina founded Policy2Practice Consulting.  She is excited to partner with community-based organizations on challenging projects that leverage her clinical background, social work values, compliance expertise, attention to detail, and critical thinking and writing skills.     

In addition to her MSW, Cristina earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from California State University, Long Beach.   She also completed a one year graduate certification program in healthcare compliance with the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and she holds two current certifications from the Health Care Compliance Association.

Cristina lives in Long Beach, CA with her husband Kirk.
